Education
The Carson City School District serves 8,798 students in eleven schools including six elementary, two middle, and three high schools. There is minimal ethnical diversity in the school system and the community in general. Higher education facilities include: Desert Research Institute, Morrison University, Truckee Meadows Community College, University of Nevada at Reno and Sierra Nevada College.
