Skiing is readily available at nearly on nearby slopes as well as backcountry skiing outfitters. Sailing is available through Tahoe Sail, www.tahoesail.com and dozens of beaches line the lake for swimming and sunbathing in summer. Several National Forests, multiple museums, hiking trails and skating rinks are all within an hour’s drive of Carson City. The area also offers plenty of shopping, golf, movie theaters and bowling lanes to satisfy.
